Quite by accident I found them leaning sideways. Ofcourse they were not 'leaning' sideways but they looked as if they were. Or were they? Taken with my mobile camera while traveling at speed along the roads of Tanzania and Zambia, these series of portraits of those going about their work while along the sides of the road - walking to a neighbours, waiting for a Dala-Dala, cycling, biking, going to school…the peculiarity of mobile digital photo technology gives them all a slant as if caught in a time warp - a feeling I get as I revisit Tanzania after 8 years - country competing with the world but finding it hard to break out of its natural bondage of time. The series reflects the difficulty of shooting in Africa - where the images has to be captured with speed and discreet. Shot with Samsung Phone Camera.
